Earth Day 2021
Earth Day is an annual event and was put into place to demonstrate support for environmental awareness and protection. Although starting small on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally with over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
So in this industry, where do we fit in? Data centers globally use about 30 billion watts of electricity. In the U.S., this accounts for about one-third of that estimates show. With worldwide consumption increasing at unforeseen rates, we’re creating more opportunity for energy production, thus our obligation to the utmost efficiency of that energy is paramount.
Although the data center industry has made substantial progress over the past dozen years with The Green Grid introducing the PUE metric, we at OVERWATCH continue to push the envelope to set the standard for environmental, social, and corporate governance. We strategize to help our clients achieve the most efficient PUE, create the most effective liquid cooling systems, and implement the best in smart energy procurement strategies.
Although we’ve made progress, we remain a student to keep growing and strive to be on cutting edge of global and environmental initiatives for a better and more #sustainable earth.
